DecibelMap Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Microphone Data

DecibelMap accesses your device's microphone to measure noise levels. Audio data captured through the microphone is used solely for real-time dB calculation. No audio files are stored.

1.2 Location Information

When using the Noise Map feature, we collect GPS or network-based location data to display measurements on the map. Location data is only collected with your explicit consent and can be denied at any time through device settings.

1.3 Measurement Session Data

When you save a measurement result, the following data is stored in Firebase Firestore (Google):

• Measurement date and time
• Measurement location (optional)
• dB values (MIN / AVG / MAX)
• Session notes (if entered by user)

1.4 Device Identifier

An anonymous device ID is used to provide app functionality and data synchronization. This ID does not directly identify you as an individual.

1.5 Advertising Data (Google AdMob)

We use Google AdMob to serve ads to free users. AdMob may collect advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID) for ad personalization. For details, see Google's Privacy Policy.

1.6 Analytics & Crash Data

To improve service quality, we use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics:

• Firebase Analytics: App usage statistics and event logs (anonymized)
• Firebase Crashlytics: App crash logs and device information (for debugging purposes)

1.7 Purchase Information (RevenueCat)

RevenueCat is used to process PRO feature purchases. RevenueCat manages purchase receipts and entitlement status. Payment information (credit cards, etc.) is processed through Apple App Store or Google Play — we do not directly collect or store this information.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Measuring and displaying noise levels
• Saving and managing measurement sessions
• Providing the Noise Map feature
• Improving app features and fixing bugs
• Serving advertisements (free users)
• Processing and restoring PRO feature purchases

3. Data Retention & Deletion

Measurement session data: Retained until you delete it or request account deletion.

App deletion: Local data on your device is automatically deleted. Cloud-stored data requires a separate deletion request.

Advertising/analytics data: Governed by each third-party service's (Google's) retention policy.

This Service uses the following third-party services. Please review their privacy policies:

• Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Firestore)
• Google AdMob
• RevenueCat
• Apple App Store / Google Play (respective platform policies apply)

5. Your Rights

You may exercise the following rights at any time:

• Request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information
• Deny location data collection (revoke permission in device settings)
• Opt out of ad personalization (device settings → reset advertising ID)
• Delete measurement data (in-app delete feature or email request)

6. Children's Privacy

This Service is not directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated due to legal changes or service modifications. We will notify you through in-app announcements or this page when changes occur.
